Fashion's Influence on Human Behaviour
Human behaviour can be influenced by a simple (often not so simple) choice- the outfit we wear for the day. The clothing we wear not only serves as a way for people to express themselves but also impacts our self-esteem, mood, confidence, and overall psychological state. This then dictates how we approach our day and interact with others, guiding our behavior.
When you wear an outfit you like, you're more likely to have a more positive attitude and feel better about yourself, boosting your confidence. On the other hand, if you don't like it, you feel uncomfortable and conscious about how your outfit looks which can stop you from being your best self. People notice this and tend to get drawn towards you when you're alluding more positive energy. The type or style of clothing you choose to wear also impacts the kind of confidence you feel. Generally, wearing professional attire such as suits can make one feel more empowered and self-assured. A concept known as power dressing suggests that wearing clothing associated with figures of authority can influence a person's behaviour, making them act with a sense of competence. These outfits aren't always the most comfortable, making the person feel annoyed, and getting in the way of their daily tasks. This is why a lot of people prefer comfort over dressing fashionably. This also provides a sense of mental comfort, which can result in the person feeling better about themselves and hence acting more confident.
Fashion's impact on an individual's state of mind and behavior is subjective. Some people feel better wearing fashionable clothes, while others get that feeling from comfortable attire.
